Short description of the project

The project PACT – Participate Actively in your Community! aims to inform and to train youth to participate actively at the community life and in decision making process. Within the project it will be created the framework to encourage youth involvement at the community life by understanding the decisions procedures at local level.

The project involves all together youth, representative actors to encourage young people to have a say at the community life: educational institutions, youth organizations, decision makers, etc.

The main project activities are:

- Simulation of Iasi City Council meeting, from 6 to 8 August in camp Muncel, Iaşi;
- Public campaign to promote youth involvement in community life, activity developed in Iaşi during September-October 2014;
- Workshops involving educational institutions and youth aiming the development of social and civic competences among youth, October 2014;
- Meetings of young people and decision makers for analyzing and understanding the local legislative apparatus, October-November 2014;
- Participation of young people at the Iasi City Council meetings, October-November 2014;
- Accredited training programs for civil society capacity building in youth, October-November 2014;
- Public debate on the importance of civic and political engagement of young people, November-December 2014.


The project is financed by the Romanian Ministry of Youth and Sport through the Iasi County Directorate for Sport and Youth and Iasi City Hall.
