Meals in Europe from National to Universal
Kusadasi/Aydin City/TURKEY
11.10.2014 – 19.10.2014

Project funded by European Union

Project Description

The main aim of the youth exchange project M.E.N.U. (Meals in Europe National to Universal) is to let youth from different parts of Europe to be aware about the cultural differences and to avoid difficulties, which can be caused by those differences, by the way of respecting and sharing the common values in the community life. In our project we will use the food as a branch of culture. With this project we will provide a platform for youth.

In this platform they will:
- realize the differences and respect to them,
- be able to solve problems with toleration,
- recognize the importance of active citizenship,
- find opportunities to improve their skills.

During the activity week of the project, participants from different parts of Europe will introduce and share their national traditional food, starting with their history to the process of cooking. During this week they will not only learn European food but also the culture and the differences. In that way we are will reach our main aim.

As the outcome of our project, we will create a cookbook named ‘M.E.N.U.’ with the meals which will be cooked during the project. Besides being a recipe book, this book will include the idea of how the differences in Europe can be combined together as M.E.N.U. metaphorical.
